It was closely associated with the industrial revolution and development.
Classical or traditional organization and management theory and bureaucratic model.    
Management though focused on a) Productivity, b) job content, c) Structure, standardization, Simplification. 
Scientific approach towards organization and management 
Classical management was based on three pillars (i) scientific management schools (ii) bureaucrat model (iii) Administrative management theory. 
Scientific Management:

Scientific management was concerned with improving productivity by improving performance standards of individual workers. Scientific management is also called Taylor ism.
